CLNS 95/1377 MZ-TH/95-31 Sum Rules for Radiative and Strong Decays of Heavy Mesons
نویسندگان
چکیده
We derive two model-independent sum rules relating the transition matrix elements for radiative and strong decays of excited heavy mesons to properties of the lowest-lying heavy mesons. The sum rule for the radiative decays is an analog of the Cabibbo-Radicati sum rule and expresses the sum of the radiative widths in terms of the isovector charge radius of the ground state heavy meson. Using model-dependent estimates and heavy hadron chiral perturbation theory calculations, we show that this sum rule is close to saturation with states of excitation energies less than 1 GeV. An analog of the AdlerWeisberger sum rule gives an useful sum rule for the pionic widths of heavy excited mesons, which is used to set a model-independent upper bound on the coupling of the P-wave heavy mesons. We analyze strong one-pion and radiative one-photon decays of heavy flavored baryons within a relativistic three-quark model. Employing the same parameters as were used for the description of the semileptonic decays of heavy baryons, we calculate the couplings of one-pion and one-photon transitions of both ground and excited heavy baryon states. We predict the decay rates for all relevant decay...

It is shown that, in the bound state picture, the Λc(2593) → Λcγ and Λc(2625) → Λcγ decays are severely suppressed. On the other hand, for their bottom counterparts, which are predicted to have masses 5900 and 5926 MeV respectively, may have significant radiative branching ratio. In particular, the Λb(5926) → Λbγ mode may even dominate over the strong decay mode. The isospin allowed Λ Q → ΣQγ m...

FERMILAB–PUB–98/067–T (extended version) CERN–TH/98–215 hep-ph/9802394 Abstract: I calculate the form factors describing semileptonic and penguin-induced decays of B mesons into light pseudoscalar mesons. The form factors are calculated from QCD sum rules on the light-cone including contributions up to twist 4, radiative corrections to the leading twist contribution and SU(3)-breaking effects. ...
